Default Oil Pan Troubles

I just bought my mustang and it came with an oil pan gasket leek. I figured that wasn't a big deal untill I tried to change it. Wow thats a lot of stuff you have to unbolt. Anyway, yesterday I started and now its the next day and I still can't get the old pan out. I removed the steering rack, unbolted the transmission, unbolted the engine and I still can't get the engine up enough to get the pan out. What the hell am I missing? It seems like the engine is as high as it can go without taking the body with it. Please help. I need to get this thing off my driveway.

you do not have to pull the oil pan out to replace the gasket. I have done tons of 5.0 in about a hour. You have taken way too much stuff off that motor. I just did mine in the garage on my back with hands tools in 2 hours. That includes draining oil and refilling.

Burn,

You've drained it, you've unbolted, bring the pan down as far as you can, clean it as well as possible then bend (gently now) the gasket and fold it till it goes around all the obstructions, make sure all is lined up (use a flash light and small mirror if need be) and take it from there.

Don't mind some folks....---

Hope that helps.
