You have to disconnect every hose that is connected to the engine and something other than the engine on the other side. Heater hoses, radiator hoses, brake booster line, fuel lines, all of the wiring harness stuff, coil lead, throttle cable, etc.
Some engines (my Subaru iirc is one) have loops permanently attached to the motor for hooking up a hoist. I believe I've seen plates for hoisting out the 5.0 for sale - just yank the intake manifold out and bolt the plate down, then hoist from it.

Mine had engine hoists bolted on the sides near the exhaust manifolds. But like Horatio said they do sell plates that bolt up where the intake manifold was. As far as pulling the engine. We pulled the 4cyl out of my car in literally 1 hour and it really only took like 3 hours to take out the 5.0 from the donor car but its just because we took time to cut the entire front of the car off to make it come out easier hahaha. It wasn't hard but make sure you look it over good or you'll forget where stuff goes like I did.

I discovered that I can pretty much take anything apart and put it back the same way..............as long as I have my digi-cam. (I guess it's something you learn as you get older.....cause you just don't remember sh*t.....or don't give a sh*t....either way it helps...)

Just in case you didn't think of it already.
