1.7 roller rockers clearance ok? 5.0 ho 1990
just wondering guys with the 1.7 rollers, will I clear factory pisotns ok with factory cam and my 351 heads?
I have 1.6 rollers now, and was told the 1.7's may shift my powerband up and that is not desired by some, however it add a sweet .030 lift to yur cam

if your running a .485 cam with 1.7 rollers you have a .517 lift cam !
I hear for the streets, you should stay 224 duration and 500 lift what do you think, about my setup, I alos know a split grind that favors the exhaust works nice as well. and has that choppy idle
im assuming my duration does not change with the addition of new 1.7 rollers correct?? If so, this would maek them meaning less and a better cam necessary

You can go higer in duration than that without any issues. A stock cobra cam is 227° and it BARELY lopes

yeah thats what i thought, I figured I can at least get the 1.7 rollers and gain 30 hp, my machinist told me my stock cam is holding me back with my setup and I need to make it BREATHE, so Im assuming with my stock cam and some 1.7 rollers my duration and specs will be cobra?? correct?

what about with the stage 2 trick flow cam... the specs are as followed
TFS-51402001
Fair idle, good midrange power. 2,500-3,000 rpm stall converter or five-speed recommended.
Compression: 9.5:1 minimum
224°/232° duration
.339/.352 cam lift
.542/.563 valve lift with 1.6 rr's
112° lobe seperation
also i was going with the canfield heads made for the 5.0 and the specs are...
Camshafts up to .550 lift shouldn't require piston notching
