what i do is take the coil wire off the distributor but leave it on the coil and put the distributor end somewhere where it won't arc. Then i just put the compression tester ina cylinder and crank the motor over 3 times. I've never done anything about the fuel system. I've done it a few times and my car always starts. It's definetely rich at first but it cleans itself out quick

According to the instruction manual that came with my tester, there is only one way. I dunno. It says to pull the coil wire and remove all of the spark plugs.

If you're worried about flooding you can always pull the fuse for the fuel pump.

pull the relay , washing your wall down with gas does not do well with tryin tosimulate what actually goes on in there ,and the coil too . crack the throttle wide open , and have all the plugs out . also do it while its still warm , (ring end gaps), do a dry one and then one with a squirt or oil to see if there is a huge difference in the quality of your ring seal. good luck
