Ok, I have searched the forums for this before asking.....but no results...

Today while I was grabbing a new belt for the car, I decided to get the coolant temp sensor to see if that is why my temp gauge isnt working at all. The part the guy gave me was $4.00. It has a spot for one wire. But I cannot find where it goes. Does anyone have any pics of the sensor and the location? I looked for it again at Advance Auto Parts website but did not find one like it even though I just got it.

On a side note, is this a common cause for the gauge to not work? My instrument lights do not work either. All gauges except for the temp gauge work fine and read correctly, but not the temp. Are there other things that I should check as well?

Thanks Joel. That is the part I have. What is the sensor located right above the driverside exhaust manifold with the 1 wire connection? It is similar in shape to a fuel filter but also has the 1 wire connection.

Also, any thoughts as to why the cluster lights dont work? I've checked fuses, but all are there. The hazard light relay is missing, but a jumper wire was used and blinkers and flashers work. Does this also control the dash lights? The hi beam indicator and all warning lights work. Just the gauge lights dont.

Check the dimmer switch.....it might have an open wire or it's faulty.
