Default MAC Exhaust!!

[:'(]My mac Exhaust is still not working...now i think it is my mechanic that sucks. He says it is a total nightmare trying to bolt on my exhaust...any i bought all bolt on parts!!!! I am so frustrated! He says there are three things wrong...1 if he bolts it all on tightly it will be touching the frame of the car which will rattle.2 if he bolts it up to were it doesnt hit the frame there will be an exhuast leak.3 if he bolts it up with hit not hitting the frame an no leak then it will be hitting the driveshaft! I double checked that i ordered the right parts through Stangsuspension and Josh is great he even called MAC and asked them and they gave some tips on how to install which i passed on to my mechanic and he says it is a nightmare..what should i do go to a exhaust specialist? Please no posts on how i should do it mysef i havent the time and i have no tools. Please help guys.. Who has a Mac off road h pipe for a 95 GT auto and a catback exhaust?[:'(][:'(]

take it to the local exhaust shop. there has to be a place around that specializes in exhaust. down here in every little town theres a exhaust shop, there has to be one around you. go and talk to them about it or something.

Are the flowtubes saposed to be exactly the same with bends and all?? Do the flolwtubes go after the H pipe?
It seems like he is installing this wrong somehow! It shouldnt be this hard. Does anyone have pics of how it should look or maybe a website with pics or a step by step process, I am going to see my car tommorrow at lunch...maybe i can point something out to him.

he probably cant bend the pipes himself (needs a pipe bender)

almost all exhaust systems require modifications even if its sold as a kit or "direct-fit"

Another question...with this bolt on exhaust...(i got the o/r h pipe that connects to the stock headers, and the catback exhaust to match) should he have to lengthen the O2 sensor??? Does this seem right? I would think MAC would of know this and would of 1 put the O2 sensor bung in the correct spot before they started mass production...or 2 would of disclosed this info before you purchased their product. This is just another clue to me thinking that he is installing this thing all wrong.

i have the exact same mac exhaust. put it on when my car was still an auto. had the same problem. i couldn't get it to fit right in my driveway so i took it to an actual exhaust shop and they fixed it for the most part. very little clearance between the crossmember and the h-pipe. sucks. and no, the o2 sensors are in the right place, garanteed. never had a problem and am on my second mac o/r h-pipe(tore up my exhaust twice cause my car is lowered 2 inches). just take it somewhere that actually works specifically on exhaust. they'll know how to adjust it properly. should only cost about 20 bucks tops

MAC....gotta expect that unless you go w/ BBK. Sorry had to say it! Anyhow tell your mechanic to bolt it up tight and take it to cole muffler or another muffler specialist shop and have them bend the midpipe to clear the frame. Good Luck and in the future pick quality over cost.

I dunno what the hell you are talking about, I've got full MAC exhaust (headers, mid pipe, and catback) and everything fits just perfectly. For the record BBK doesn't make a catback .

But anyways, why don't you just install it your self? For the price of his labor you could have have bought the tools to do it yourself.

ive got MAC exhaust on mine and the guy is right about it hitting the drive shaft.... but thats only when its up on the lift because the drive shaft changes its angle because the tires are off the ground and the suspension is all the way up... mine hits when its on the lift, but when you bring it down it will not touch... im not sayin that is your problem, but its what mine does. hope this helps
