Default Fiberglass Hatch

Hey my car is in pretty rough shape and i'm just trying to price stuff out and i was just wondering if it would be easier to just buy a 400-500$ fiberglass hatch and have it be brand new instead of fixing the rust on the hatch i have now.... i have a fiberglass 2.5 inche cowl hood and i like it i just dont know what are some pros and cons to a fiberglass hatch?

Well, one con is the price. Second is that its hard to find hatch struts for them. Someone had a fiberglass hatch on here and had a real hard time finding a strut to work with it.

Pro's, less weight. But think about it, its less weight in the rear. Is that really what you want to do? Less weight means lighter *** end with less traction. Just my .02

I would leave it and save the money.

Harwood also recommends a lexan rear window, I believe it is about $120..At least it was when I was pricing things out....Find a good hatch at a junk yard.

My struts don't even hold my hatch right now so they'd probably be perfect for a fiberglass one which I need.
