Default SN95 and cams

Is there any cam that an SN95 will take without making too much of a fuss? Iknow the computers in the 94 and 95 5.0s can be fussy and REALLY hate major changes, especially to the cam. Are there any out there that are decent but don't cause too many issues? I figure I wont have too many issues with the heads or intake, but I think the cam is gonna be a problem.

Crane CompuCam camshafts have special profiles designed to improve engine performance. And they do so without sending the computer into fits, or causing the stalling, surging, or drivability problems some "computer-compatible" cams are known for. They're 50-state legal for the applications listed.

that about sums it up i guess heh

I got the Steeda #19 cam, it's made my Crane and it's more agressive than Crane's 2031 cam, and it's also computer compatible...

It seems like the trick flow cam in their top end kit doesn't really work well with this computer. I know it can be tuned out, but that's just one more problem I'd rather not have to deal with. Id like to get everything to run as smooth as possible and then tune it out from there. Just seems easier to tune the car when the parts are already close to where they need to be.

Without tuning youre defeating the purpose of the cam. Your computer will only as much fuel as it did with the stock cam, the whole point of a cam is to open the valves more for longer to get a larger intake charge. On carbed cars it was automatically done for you, but on your EFI car you need to tell the comp to send more gas, you could possibly wind up with a rather lean condition if you dont.

I know you need to tune either way. But the SN95 computers are real picky. And it can be a pain in the *** and real expensive to get a good tune if the new cam is too extreme. It's much easier if you can find one that's decent but not too extreme. I'd rather get something relatively close so I at least have a decent starting point instead of wasting extra time and money on a cam that the computer just plain doesn't like and will only give slightly better gains over a computer-friendly one in the end.

just curious but regardless of what cam you get it will still need a tune.so whats the difference between getting
one thats computer friendly or one that you want?after the tune they would both work right?
