Default Differences between roller and non roller

To begin, I just want to say thanks for the help from all of you guys whenever I had a question. As some of you know, I am having rediculous oil consumption. 1 quart=1000 miles. While kicking around in my father in laws restoration shop, I found an early 70's 351W, and a late 60's 306 (his ex drag racing engine) sitting in the corner. Willie, my father in law, said the 351 is built with forged pistons, etc. He suggested rather than rebuild my 302, we install the 351. What I want to know is, what exactly are the pros and cons of going with a non roller block? I have already done all the research about what is required for the swap. Thanks in advance for your input.
