Default Wat is a cheap way Too....

Is there a cheap way of getting all wheel disc brake conversion on my 86 stang or i got to buy the whole kit brand new ? Also instead of switchin to 5 lug I still want to keep my 4 lugs so i won't have to go runnin around looking for new rims to fit the 5lugs.

the 86's are too old, youd need new brake assemblies from a 4 lug car with bigger discs

your stock master cylinder is sufficient, how many brake jobs have you done? you take the old drum system off, drain the rear diff, pull the axles, replace axles, install new rotors/calipers, bleed brakes, fill rear diff, and such... it's not breaking the atom but it nots a walk in the park[sm=burnout.gif]

Turbo Coupe rears are getting hard to find, even for turbo coupe guys. The rear swap is a direct swap, you may have to route your brake lines a bit differently, but the rear will bolt up. Your wheels will be pushed out 3/4 of an inch, and if you want to run some wider tires, you may run into rubbing issues.

In all honesty, the rear disk brakes arnt worth it. Mine were problem prone, had a caliper lock up, spit the pad out, and tear apart my rotor. Brake parts for these cars arnt cheap, and the disk brakes really dont make much difference. The only reason the TC's got disk brakes was so Ford could use ABS on the cars.

The SVO's use a Lincoln Mark VII rear, which is 1.25" wider than your mustangs, and theyre 5-lug. The SVO rear was also 7.5" Since the rear was so much wider, Ford used wheels specific to the SVO, with an odd offset, to keep the wheels in the wheel wells.
