95 gt studdering problems!!!????
Hi all I own a 1995 mustang gt with slight mods done to it. The problem that im having is that at WOT at 3K to 5K rpm the car looses alot of power as if it had a major lack of fuel. Now the car has 40K original miles. I bought it from the original owner. HE told me he started it at least once a week. What could this hesitation possibly be any thoughts or comments highly appreciated.
THe Mods
edelbrock performer rpm intake
70mm TB
MAF 76mm
ford motorsports shorty headers
full magnaflow exhaust
underdrive pullies
What could this problem possibly be fuel pump, injectors, fuel filter i dont know please help.

RE: 95 gt studdering problems!!!????
This type of problem is very easy to troubleshoot and most of the time doesnt cost much to fix. You engine needs 4 things to run.
1) Fuel
2) Spark
3) Air (check your air filter 1st)
4) Compression
Lets say that 3 & 4 are both okay.
If your 100% sure it's a fuel problem I would start with the fuel filter.
If that doesnt fix the problem check your fuel pressure IAW your owners manual.
If your pressure is good the next step is to clean your injectors.
If it's a spark problem change your plugs and wires. You said that it doesnt happen until you get to a high RPM range so this will be a little harder to troubleshoot. The voltage through your wires and plugs shouldnt change much through acceleration so there is not really any reason that it would only stumble at hight RPMs if it was a spark issue.
If your getting a check engine light you can just drive over to Auto Zone and have them run the codes for you for no charge.

RE: 95 gt studdering problems!!!????
will it happin at all speeds in any gear or just in (say 4th at 65 mph)
If the ladder and the car has set for a while go through your air intake system (pre filter)
I bought a 95 ******* that had set 2years at 58mph 4gear it went flat found a hornet's nest in the intake system((bug's))

RE: 95 gt studdering problems!!!????
my car has a serious lack of power around 3500 rpms when i fist bought it... ended up finding out that the right side pre-cat had broken up and was jamming up the main cat on the right side.... the exhaust just couldnt flow enough air, and the car would stop accelerating
