I would really recommend staying away from MAC headers. Just get some BBK equal lengths and youll be all set.
As for a mid pipe, it all has to do withwhat sound you are looking for. I went with an X pipe because everyone said to go with an H. I like to stand out in the crowd, so i made my car sound unique. Thats also why i backed it up with a set of Mac Pro Dumps.... again, very unique sound

I really dont know what kind of sound i want, i do like the raspy kind of sounds. Wouldn't a X pipe with a set of american thunder sound funny? it just doesnt sound like it would go good together.
So mac is a bad brand with headers and a mid pipe? But great for exhaust?

RE: help me understand this stuff with exhaust
the fit can be a little odd but with some tweeking mac stuff works just fine. i have mac unequal shorty headers and a mac O/R H pipe with american thunder flowmasters w/ dumps and it sounds great! i've never had a problem with mac stuff and i've had it on 2 5.0's so i suppose its just up to you. i wouldn't be so quick as to advise against it.

I wouldnt say that MAC is a bad brand to go with for a midpipe becasue the prochamber is one of the nicest on the market IMO. But a prochamber will only bolt up with MAC headers (pretty sure)
