Need serious help!!!
I have a 94 5.0 and i cant get it to start unless i pull out the "resistor" I think thtas what it is. its pictured below once it is started and i put the resistor back in as soon as i rev up to 2000rpm the engine shuts off. It will run fine with out the resistor in place but when it hits about 3500rmp the engine just revs up extreamly fast with out going anywhere let me know what you think im tired of scratching my head.

RE: Need serious help!!!
I'd be curious to see what is happening to your timing when all of this is happening. First see what the base timing is (start engine without the spout connector in, check it, then shut it off.) Then I'd be curious to see what the computer is advancing the timing to with the connector is and with someone reving the engine a little. But if you can't even get it to start at all with the spout connector in, I'm guessing your timing is screwed.
Did you do anything to the balancer or the distributor lately that may cause this? When did this start happening? Was it all of a sudden or did something change to cause it to happen? Did it make any sound or anything at all to clue you in before it started happening?
