I just picked up a 1990 5.0 Notch 5 speed for a song. What do I do with it? It runs great, but is pretty rough. No hood (accident), front clip is damaged, cowl is bent a little from hood coming over it (ran under an 18 wheeler), has a few dings here and there. Interior is trashed, and the paint is long gone. It has a ton of new parts on it though, and the T5 was rebuilt a few hundered miles ago.
Everything works on it and I drive it to work a few times a week. I was wondering if it is worth turning into a project, orjust parting it out? It has around 140K and leaks a little oil. I have all the gaskets to fix it. Also, the motor mounts are SHOT! the engine raises out of the car about a foot when you get on it! I also have new mounts for it in the trunk.
Basically, it need the whole interior done, new seats, alot of body work, and some tlc.
It looks like crap, but runs like a raped ape.

What to do????

You could always look for one in better shape but without a motor or trans, and swap it over. It'd be cheaper than restoring that one, I'd reckon.

I would sell it out for parts that the best way to make money on that....Save your money and keep looking there's alot of good deals out their....Good luck!

Yea, i'm sure you'd make a ton partin it off, i fyou like to sell on ebay, thats a really good spot to start, and you can always put parts in the forsale section here.

man go buy a cheap 4banger notch and just do a swap... you've got everything you need.

keep it for a beater right now. and get some bungee cords,if the engine is lifting a foot up,with no hood it might jump out..... ah yeah
