How I became a 5.0 Fan

RE: How I became a 5.0 Fan
I've loved Mustangs since can remember...just wish I had a little more wisdom and forethought as a youngster. When I got my license the old stangs could be found around here for $1500 or less (in good shape too). My first one I bought when I was 16, 65 coup, 289/auto had it for about a year it had a lot of fill in the quarters and at the time I didn't have the skills to fix it. Sold it and bought a '66 when I was 17. It was clean, straight body and little rust. I took out the 170 IL6 and 3-speed. Built my first 302 and dropped in her with a top-loader 4-speed and changed out the rear, painted it Jet Black awesome car! Got married when I was 19 (the first time) and my new wife convinced me to sell her and get a "family car" when our son arrived.... a few years later I managed to buy an '83 Notch 3.8L/auto.....didn't mod it at all drove it for several years and sold it. Fast foreward a few. In 98 I bought a '94 v6/auto and didn't have it long before I had swapped in a 5.0L/T-5 and 8.8. Started going to the track and got the bug for speed. Within a year I had built a 331/c-4 combo that ran 7 flat in the 1/8th mile. But by then it was a track only car...a mistake. Someone at the track made me an offer that I couldn't refuse so away she went. in 2000 I found a cherry 98 Cobra that all I did was swap gears and drove everywhere I went. Prolly the most fun car I've ever owned. Lost her not by choice )c: ..... and now I have an '86 v6/auto sitting in the driveway cherry body but evrything else (interior/engine/trans is basically shot) got big plans for her though. She will always stay a street car that I occasionally take to the track...I learned that much and I hope I have as much fun with her as I have the rest of them over the years.....

A friend of mine stole a 89gt and picked me up from school(I didnt know it was stolen) We went to the gas station to get $3 worth of gas. While I was getting the gas he was in the back taking apart the kick *** system that was in it.. So while he was doing that he told me to drive the car to his uncles house. So on the way there an ole favorite car of mine (CRX) was flying past us I knew they was fast so I sped up and met them at the light.. I took them from the light 4 car lenghts b4 I got scared and slowed down( I WAS Young).. I pulled into 7 11 started talking to the kid with the blue crx and my boy hoped in the drivers seat smoked the tires and clipped the building then he took off... since then I was a

I always loved the way the GT looked. When I was 14, I remember my mother and I were driving down the street and then all the sudden a 89 Black GT pulls out of the parking lot beside us. We were going about 40 MPH, we never passed that Mustang GT. He pulled out and was gone, it was the most impressive thing that I've ever seen. Every since I got my first 5.0, that's what I've been doing too.
I am fortunate enough to have a cool enough mom to take me over to the Ford dealership and test drive a brand new 91 Mustang 5.0. Now those were the days. It's only the 5.0 for me though, I can't say that any other Mustang has giving me the feeling that the 5.0 has, sorry.

when I was 9 my cousin got a brand new 1988 black hatck 5.0. He had typical bolt ons gears, cvx exhaust, intake and so on. My father wasnt into performance cars so I had never been in anything other than dodge k cars and toyotas. That car changed everything for me and now that I am 26 I finally have one of my own and I plan building it up like his.
