Default will it fit under the hood?

a stock carburated 351w, will it clear my stock hood?...or how high of cowl would i need.

btw....i need to get a new hood anyways cuz my stock one has tons of rust on it [:'(]

im not expert but i think you'd probably need atleast a 2.5 inch cowl if its carbed. i would think anyways don't take my complete word for that.

I am sorry, why would you want to change to a carb if you already have FI? But to answer your question, I think you would need a cowl hood, the carb may sit below the hood, but by the time you install the air intake and filter, you will be too high. I have a 90 also, and I happen to know that you can place an oil filler cap on top of the intake, and it will not move because the clearance is so close. Dont ask me how I know this!

it all depends on what intake and carb/air cleaner you use.

some people have made it fit with some modification.

I had to use a 4" hood to clear and know others with carb set-ups
that had to use 4" also.

i am running the edelbrock performer intake(not tall...like stock height)...edelbrock 600 carb............and possibly a 3" air cleaner......what size of air cleaner do u suggest

The performer intake sits higher than a factory ford intake. More than likely its going to be a tight squeeze. You might be able to with convertable mounts and the skinniest air cleaner you can find.
