a stock to mild motor would be better off with 165cc heads instead of 185cc

i need bigger heads for my 418. i already have the 185 and i have a stock motor so im going to use them on that motor untill i finish my 418. im hoping to run 11.90 with 150 shot with 185 heads on the stock motor with bolt ons slicks and gears i went 12.16 with that set up i had and intake but i sold the intake. i just need something to race untill get done with my 418

i was planning on getting those heads for my motor as well. but i would do a whole hci swap at the same time with the r-series trickflow intake, afr 185's and not sure on the cam yet. would it still be a waste to use 185's, should i go with 165's.
