Default cats?

I have what's in my sig... I was wondering if I cut my cat's out and threw some flowmaster 40 series if it would improve my sound throatier..? My friend has a 96 cobra and that's what he did it sound's so mean and loud... I just don't want mine to sound like a truck... what do you think?

yes it will sound alot depper and throaty. Instead of cutting them out get an o/r h pipe for the deepest sound.

Yep +1 on the o/r h pipe. It is loud though, especially with dumped flows

yea id go for it...the 5.0 packs a little bit different tone in the sound then the 4.6 but you woundnt be let down..i have hooker headers, off road h-pipe and 40s and it sounds pretty badass

yeah it'd be nice... i asked how it'd sound cut and some tail pipes, if i could i would go x pipes but money is on a budget

Easy, you don't pass emissions testing. And if for any reason a cop should look under your car and not see them, you can plan on shelling out quite a bit of money. ( I may be totally wrong, but I thought the EPA set the offense to $2,500/violation)

Yeah... not too worried about that. A lot of people here have their cat's off, mainly on trucks though. They are freaking loud so i'm not too scared of pulling them off my 5.0.. plus I live in a small town and rarely leave it, 2 cops on duty at a time... Life is nice :[8D]

Both Chevy and Ford guys know that a true Mustang sound comes from Flowmasters and Off-road H-pipe. Get rid of the cats as restriction always inhibits performance.
