Take the serpentine belt off... spin the water pump pulley... see if it starts to leak.
I think Ford Racing water pump goes for under $50.

i recently had a coolant leak in my 89. turned out to be a coolant hose running from the throttle body to the back of the intake. popped a hole where a hoseclamp from the heatercore hoses was rubbing on it.

its most likely your water pump. I just changed mine the other day. Its not hard at all it just takes some time. Also check the water neck like iamvillani said becuase mine leaked tons of coolant even after a changed the gasket. It ended up being warped .

I think parts stores rent out coolant system pressure testers. If not they sell them.
Its a pump with an attachment that screws onto the radiator where the cap goes and you pump it up to the pressure on the cap (usually 15 psi or so) and then check for leaks. The same tool also can test radiator caps.

Water pumps have a weep hole that drips fluid if the pump is bad. One of my old trucks leaked alot of coolant out and it was from the water pump.

A new water pump is $68.99 at Advance Auto for your car.

ORIGINAL: ROTTITANK

yes water pump gaskets go bad.
+1 but it shouldn't cause his car to overheat.

mine leaks like a bastard but i check the rad everyday and its always topped off

as long as u got coolant in the radiator and its topped off ur car shouldnt have a cooling problem unless its somewhere else. fan, clutch, etc...
