Unfortunatly theses number aren't always that accurate. I installed 3.55 gears on my 85 GT with 5-speed and 225/60R15 tires. All the web sites called for the 20 tooth gear for my car. On the highway I felt I was moving slower then my speedometer was telling me. I had a local cop hit me with his radar and my suspisions were corret. I was on average, 5 MPH slower. I put in a 21 tooth and now my speedo it accurate.

Ok, I am about to swap my AOD for a Cobra-Spec T-5 transmission off a 1993 Cobra. That means I have the stock auto rear-end of 3.27:1 diff i think, but the transmission is the Cobra-Spec T-5, not the standard AOD/3.27 combination. What would I need to buy for that?

Thanks.

Thank-you for posting that Obsol3te, I just recently purchased 3.55 gears for my 88 LX 5.0. and called several local Ford dealers about what speedo gear I would need to put in. They couldn't tell me because they said their books didn't go back that far. That was a great idea that you posted that!! By the way do you or anyone else know what gears were standard in that year? Does it matter that it was a patrol car at one time? Thankyou ahead of time for any help you can give me!!!
