Heads, Cam, Exhaust...thats it!
1990 LX 5.0 convertible.
Probably upgrade to 2.5" exhaust. Only other mod at this time will be heads and a cam. What valve size is good for a factory block and how much lift would I want the cam at? I want a bit of a lope at idle....but not so much that I think its going to die if I don't hit the gas. Is there a kit out there for matching heads/cam? Car has 77K original miles on it and its been run very easy up to this point. Thanks for any help. I'm in the process of repainting the car and redoing the interior right now too.

i believe you dont want any intake valve over 2.0" or you can have piston to valve clearence problems. Also the Trick Flow 1 cam is very nice and streetable, i love mine
An intake will also benefit you alot at that point, that factory one is starving the factory heads, not to mention aftermarket ones

I have pretty good self control. Too many other cars already built and some more in the works. I'm not looking to take over the racing world with this car, so the budget will be low.
Yeah, I thought about an intake too....but I wonder how many extra horse I would gain by an aftermarket intake. :dunno:

Ok.....that maybe the way to go. I don't want to smoke the factory tranny....at least not right away and I figure 100 HP should be good. Its an automatic.

h/c/i swap you can.
h/c/i swap you can.
You can get a used intake for $200-300. The stocker will choke your motor out unless you port it.

I had a buddy telling me about the trick flow kit. I thought he said the kit was about $2K...can't remember for sure. Do you have an idea how much each kit is? The ford one sounds pretty complete from what you have stated!
