Sounds like a plan. But you can get so much out of them with out pulling the motor. I dunno' why you would want to pull the motor unless you are going to do some serious work.

Yeah...but the cheap cars are the cars without motors. Also they don't come with 351Ws stock.

EDIT: Forgot to add to the original post a P&P job on the heads (dont by my uncle for free), some roller rockers, springs, and some kind of cam.

so you're tellin me you got a 351, ready to bolt into a fox with the right oil pan and a c4 with the right shifter, every other thing ready to run for 800???? hmmmm.........

no shifter...but yes the engine and trans got takin out of my buddys 66 mustang...cuz he wants to convert it back to the 289, so he gave me a really good deal on everything

I'm thinking that it could be done for $4000 with some careful e-bay shopping.
While at the junker, get and 8.8 rearend if the car don't have one.
It costs very little except time, to really get wieght off these cars. I would start with a notch buy my '84 hatch with me in it is 2860# and I even have an exhaust system....
