just by that maybe a 3:08 mark a line on the ground and tire and on the drive shaft and rotate tire one time and see how many times the driveshaft turns

horatio,

sounds like you have 3:08 - 1700rpm at +/- 60mph -- I have 3:08 and I do about 60mph at 1700rpm (70-75 at 1900-2000)

either that or start measuring how many times the shaft turns on one full rotation of your tire. (like VFAST wrote).

I replaced the speedo cable yesterday. What a PITA. While I had the dash apart I rolled the ODO forward so that it reads approximate miles since the engine went in (and don't worry about the odo being off, it's got a branded 'mileage unknown' title). Unfortunately that required me to take the needle off the speedo and I didn't think to count the wind on the spring. I think I got it back together pretty close but who knows. I'll test it more when I get it registered.

So, what's the stock axle ratio? I'm wondering if the 2 part speedo had a reduction gear in it because the ratio changed. The cable had a ford engineering number on it, but it didn't cross to a part number in the dealer's system. Cripes.
