I've not built a 393 but I like that combo the best for us folks on limited budgets....
1) fairly cheap/easy to get heads that will support 393, not so with bigger motors...
2) I like the shorter stroke/less rotating mass that somebody mentioned above...
3) go carbed and use any of about a billion intakes on e-bay. In fact you can build the thing for not a lot more than rebuilding a 5.0 would cost......
Now, downside............
1) The only block I would consider is from a 90's something truck so that you can keep hyd roller. Whole thing isn't worth doing if you stay flat tappet.....
2) A 351W will be about 60-90#'s heavier fully dressed and in the car.FOX bodies already are WAY to heavy in the front end and suspension/tires causes all sorts of problems trying to get hooked up.....
