Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forums, bought a white '88 GT with MAF (Cal model I guess?). I am quite happy with the car, but I live in Mexico City, and fuel injected 5.0's were not imported officially by Ford until '94, so I'm running into a few probs finding parts.
Apparently the MAF sensor is shot, although I still have to confirm it with my mechanic. Driving through heavy rain the car started stalling, long story short another mechanic told me it was the MAF sensor, and wired it "open" so now the "check engine light" is on and my fuel economy is dismal, so I just parked it.

Anyway, whenever I ask for parts for this car everyone says "it's not a national car, there are no parts". AFAIK there were Thunderbirds with a similar 5.0 HO engine, but different heads and exhaust (?) maybe some trucks, I don't really know. Does anyone know if other models with a 5.0 had the same engine management system as Mustangs? There are also 5.0 Mustangs from after the body change (94 on) are any of these interchangeable?

Any help is really appreciated, and I look forward to haning out here a bit, from what I've read over the last few weeks, it looks like a cool forum.
