starter sticking

Default starter sticking

I just started mt gt 40 crate motor for the first time last night and my starter is sticking after it starts. Any ideas how to get my starter to stop sticking.(i have the ford racing hi torque starter)

some spray lube should do the trick. don't use any grease or anything.

you mean like white lithium? anyway what do you mean it sticks? does the pinion gear stay in the flywheel or what?

When mine sticks I just rev the motor and it stops. I still have the stock starter and it doesnt usually stick but sometimes it does.

try a very very thin washer underneath the mounting hole, to effectively move the starter out a tiny bit.
