my man u dont have the e6 heads and neither dose the guy who started the thread, the e6 heads came only on the 86 model, u have the e5 heads which are basically the same thing as the e7's with the exception of carb to efi.
To the original thread starter, if u just put hte gt40 heads and the rest of ur setup u wont see more than 250 wheel, now u can port the gt40 heads out and see a huge gain with just that and with ur setup if u port out hte heads u will see almost 300 wheel. Now i would highly suggest getting just a slightly better carb so u can get more air for little money

I am in the same boat. My motor is older, how old I don't know but I do not have a roller cam. Good ole flat tappet here. The kit I bought is for a 82-85 so I think it is between those years. I wanted to know what type of heads I could run on it. I know the ones I have suck. I have cast pistons in this motor, I think I need to build me another motor later. What heads can I pick up used that will work and I can use on my next motor?

I would say closer to 300, there are a few guys in here with gt40's with very little work done to them getting close to 300 with an efi system (with a good tune) so I can't see why you wouldn't get close with a carb
