well if ur on a budget go to the junk yard and pick up a set of gt40's off an explorer and have them ported out and they will flow better than the afr's, thats the best setup u could do, but if u have to have aluminum then i would suggest trick flow heads over edelbrock, they flow better and make more power, but edy's are good heads

cool well ill look for either trickflow or edelbrocks, the reason i haven't got any cast gt-40 is the junkyards want between 2 to 4 hundred dollars and porting on top of that ,that is why i am just gonna get a set of aluminun heads

200-400 plus porting and you still have a superior head with heat resistance characteristics... im personally gonna stick to iron heads

jegs has a nice set of " jegs" brand heads. they have2.02 intake 1.60 exhaust 7/16 rocker studs 5/16 guideplates they say up to .550 lift cam with stock piston notches 58cc chambers and 170cc intake runners aluminum heads for 549 each plus you can use the aftermarket adjustable roller rockers not the stock type pedestal mount

A set of gt-40 heads is 100 bucks at the junkyard. Add in a P&P and your gonna have about the same you would pay for used aluminums, except they will flow way better.

they will flow way better uh but should i go that way or just get some aluminuns and down the road port those out?

ported gt-40's are known for making 300+hp and running cars into the 11's

I'm running the Edelbrock RPM's (2.02's) and have had good luck with them.
On the dyno it made 340 HP and 316 TRQ (N/A 306). I have since added a ZEX wet kit but it hasn't been back to the dyno yet.
