need some wiring days
I have a 92 mustang notch with a 331 and supercharger, My idle is surging really bad and my tuner at panhandle performance told me my wiring is bad between iac and somwhere else in the car, because i have already changed out a new iac and a new tps sensor, set my voltage and all that jazz, the maf is new and everything else. but if anyone could help me with finding some detailed wiring diagrams on the iac and related wiring and or systems thanx.

RE: need some wiring days
Give me a fax number and I will send you the entire engine control section of the factory wiring diagram if you like.
Does anything affect this surge? In other words, is it only there sometimes? Can you make it better by unplugging stuff? Any detailed info may help me give you a place to start.....

RE: need some wiring days
I will have to fax it in the morning at work. My scanner at home blows and I don't want to screw with it. Sorry if you are trying to get this done tonight.... I won't forget about it...
Soo, if you start it with the MAF disconnected does it still do it? Do you have EGR still? Have you tried to block it off. Sometimes just disconnecting it is not enough. The little pintle can stick open.

You need to check the current flow through the IAC to make sure the circuits are good. It should be around 300 millivolts ( . 300 volts) ata 700 RPM idle. If you disconnect it and nothing happens, it must beinstalled upside down or the PCM can't control it, wiring or PCMin other words. Does it run well just off idle?

Given the IAC is installed properly, the pintle will shut completely when its disconnected. So, it runs better when its idling lower and not getting so much air. The MAF does nothing? Try giving it some ether and see if it smooths out. When did this start?
