im not sure you understand HOW MUCH money your gonna need LOL!

with around maybe 4-5,000 you can probably make 400horses, but keep in mind you need to updated the drivetrain(transmission, axles, differential) suspension(torque boxes, subframe connectors, tires) fuel system upgrades(injectors, fuel lines, fuel pump, fuel regulator)

I think you should start building up another motor on the side, here is a shopping list for a reliable 400 horse 302 based motor.

347 stroker shortblock from fordstrokers.com you do not need a forged crank.

HCI call Jay Allen when you are ready to buy and ask for his advice and listen to it.

When it is done and ready, then you need to:

Do subframe connectors/torque box reenforcement

Better clutch or beef up your auto trans/t-5 depending what you have.

Better gears.

If you shop well and do the work yourself you should make it on 5-6 thousand dollars.

You're going ot need heads (You can't just port your heads), thats about $1400.. Intakes $500-600, exhaust, probably a bottom end.. Fact of the matter is, to get 400 out of a 302 everything has to be perfect.. Not going to happen with less than 3-4x what you have.. As stated, start building up another motor on the side...

Even if you buy a complete kit by holley/trick flow, for about $2500, that will still put you at about 300hp.

your only closets chance is with the trickflow top end kit but that will set you back 2300 off summit or jegs
