youshould find a mexican shortblock. or get a aftermarket one.

I was told weight can cause the block to split from rotating weight, .

A lightweight rotating assembly will help,

aluminum driveshaft, light weight crank, rods, pistons,, Lightweight Flywheel, Liquid Harmonic Dampner, electric fan, real good balance job.

Hell , doing the above on a stock 5.0 shows impressive results

i've heard 400-600, and everywhere in between. obviously, it changes depending on how you drive it and what kind of shape it is in. I just talked to the local speed shop, they are real big into mustangs and ford performance, and they told me 450 or so at the wheels is about the point where the block wants to split. my opinion...if its all together and working fine, just keep it like that until it splits. why do an unneccesary rebuild?

AND i forgot.....i dont see the point of the valley girdle, the intake manifold i would think serves the same purpose, if it can split with the manifold on, i dont see what the girdle can prevent

If you read the entire article at the end they talk about being very careful on the dyno because the block is on borrowed time. It is an experiment to see what they could get out of it with bolt ons

its all about the parts you put in the engine, if you are running nos, and how deep your pockets are for balancing etc... we have a car that made 586rwhp through a c4, full exhaust and stock fuel rails. now we have taken the exhaust off and upgraded the fuel rails, went to the dyno and we are still being limited by 42# so 60 # are next, this should put us well over 600 rwhp. we are about to sart the 3rd seaon with no problems. my street car made 460 rwhp and it has had no problems either. i think the people that crack their blocks mostly run nos, nos is a sudden jerk on the engine which causes alot of stress on it.
