Default 270,000 plus miles and still going!

Here is my baby. She still runs and drives okay, not great, but okay. She's not my daily driver no more, just couldn't put that much faith in her. I know the speedo cable broke for a while when I was in High School and it says 70,000 something on the odometer and it's turned over twice! She's a 92 black on black 5.0 gt convertable 5spd. One owner( my mom, title is still in her name). Stuff that has been replaced: radiator x2, alternator x2, water pump x2, smog pump, transmission rebuilt, 3 clutches, misc. bearings and seals, exhaust (flowmaster cat back 40 series), all four shocks/struts (struts twice), A/C compressor and most of the A/C system, Heater Core (what a job), fuel pump, new top in 01, upgraded radio (kenwood excelon, old one completely crapped out). That's about it, besides other simple stuff like windows/regulators, door handles, etc. Engine is all original! Ran mobil 1 most of her life until she started leaking to bad to afford 4 dollar oil. We usually waited about 10K between oil changes or so.

Mud/gravel roads have been a major part of her life. Mom was a home helth nurse and put most of the miles (160,000 or so) on her before she let me take it on my 16th. Before I went to college we redid the a/c and the conv top and that is the last major shop work we had done. Most of it has been worked on by me and my family. Sorry this pic don't do it must justice, she looks great cleaned up and shiney. Let me know what you all think about her and any comments on a car that's lasted this long with this mileage. I hope to put some money into her, but I have to sell my 05 jeep wrangler first ( if interested pm me). I plan on keeping her mostly stock because there are not that many stock ones around any more. All the teenage kids fix them up with all their little speed parts. I was in that for a while, good thing I couldnt' afford anything. She gets about 23 MPG on the highway still! Just thought I would share my story.

Jason!

I think my 88 had like 270K on it.... I figured it was time for a new one (still ran great), swapped it out for a motor w/ 32K on it and the original motor from the 88 w/ 270K ran better.... go figure!
