engine bay?

RE: engine bay?
What's the cars primary use? If it's a track car, you can take off the a.c. condenser, power steering pump, and smog stuff. If not, you'll pretty much need to take it all off.
I'm in the same boat right now and am about to install a 347 with an early model block. I'm actually probably going to be cleaning/painting the engine compartment today.

Really you'll have to put most everything back if you want all the conforts intact that you used to have, but that's not to say it has to go back in the same way as before... You can put the battery int he trunk, and hide most wires/vacuum lines in the inner fenders, and do so without even cutting anything. You will have to drill a few small holes in your engine bay, but it will pay off. If you're really interested in doing this, shoot me a PM and I can send you some more detailed information on how to do it right.

Im sure your stareing at your engine bay trying to figure out an easier way to paint itthat doesnt requiretake all that crap out. Trust me when I say it will be much easier just too take everything out then to try and work around it. The end result will be well worth the added effort and to be honest once you make up mind and do it, it really isnt as hard asyou would think. Just make sure you take pictures along the way so you have a visual reference to go by if you cant remember where something goes.

+11 and trying to paint around stuff is a royal pain in the a**. I know from experience and am going to get mine all painted/cleaned up nice, since I don't plan on having the engine out again anytime soon.
Take the time and do it right the first time.
