is this just when its cold? b/c most likely its cuz the engine is freezing, i think everyone's car is doing this around this time of year.

Mine chokes out like hell when its cold, if the engine temp is under around 150 still it cuts out and ****, as long as i let it warm up 5 mins. its fine, i am runnin a SD systm though, i think a MAF system woldbe better in the cold, maybe not though

I dont know if this will help but my 86 was doing something simular, and it was my TPS. We adjusted the voltage to it and the idle smoothed out. Just my two cents.

hmmmmmmmm good thought. my idle is fine and everything. how do you adjust the voltage, or better yet how couldyou test it to make sure its right? a voltmeter or what, and anyone ever hear of wallering out the screw holes on slightly turnt th sensor for better readings or whatere?

You got it. Dont be scared to drill the holes a little bigger. We had to drill mine. You will need to take a volt meter to the green wire and to a ground. Just turn the TPS slightly until you get desired voltage.

test the voltage between the green and black wires(, or ground) key on engine off
should be around 0.98volts
