Default going to 306- will custom cam work?

Well, after I have had vibration issues, and had multiple people look at my car, I am coming to the conclusion that something internal is wrong with the engine. I've tried the balencer, mounts, plugs/timing etc. I will have to have someone tear down the engine to see if I bent a pushrod, or something. So, I think that I will have the machine shop bore it out to a 306 and replace all the internals while I'm in there. When it was torn down last time when I blew a headgasket, my mechanic said there was a slight groove in one of the cylinders, so that I wold have to do something soon anyway. I had Ed Curtis grind me a custom cam to go in my current combo. I only have maybe 150 miles on my combo before it went to crap, so I really dont want to buy another cam if I don't have to. I don't really know if the same cam will work with a 306 if I keep all the same bolt ons. I was even thinking of doing a 331, but then I'd probably have to get bigger heads. I don't know all the specs on the cam, but I'm thinking that it might be ok since its now a huge change from 302 to 306. Please tell me if I'm thinking wrong.
