How long did your transmission last?
I am getting ready to put my motor back in my car. I was wondering how long my stock transmission is gonna last. I have a 302 bored out 30, AFR 165's, Typhoon intake, 75mm Tb 70MAF, headers, etc. How long did your trans. last on everybodies modified 5.0's. I know the stock T5 aint sh**. Also what should I go with after this one has its meltdown. The cheaper the better. I cannot afford a Tremec TKO, as bad as I want one. Thanks

Transmissions are like women...treat em right and they'll last you a life time...bang the sh*t out of em and abuse em, and they'll leave ya and take your money!!
i've heard of stock T-5's going into the 12's if ya drive it right

i think you will be fine, so long as you can drive...
theres a few t5s runnin low 11s... (94gtcoupe's trans. teacher, he can verify, or correct that, if im wrong, then its a faster time).
i have a stock(rebuilt) t5, and plan on it holding a heads, kenne bell, spray motor... so so long as you dont beat on it like most 12 yr olds do their... eh... nvm... youll be fine... but if it doesnt work out for you, and you end up needing something stronger check out www.astroperformance.com they will have a t5 that will suit your needs.. all the way from stock, to gforce trans. check into them...

I retract my previous statement. I never thought it would be able to hold 368/406 @ the wheels. Pretty impressive. I shouldn't have any problems with mine then. Should a good rebuild with stronger gears help out quite a bit.
