why is there a big variation in time? some take 3 hrs others take 10+? im taking off my old exhaust and just doing away with it for now, just installing headers shouldnt be that difficult one would think, i understand moving the intake and maybe the starter and smog pump if i had one, but why would i have to lift the engine?

depends on your mechanical skill..i've beenwrenches for all my life....undo the motor mounts, jack up the motor, and pull it to one side and slip the header in. I put the RH header in from the top and the LH from the bottom..i did undo the steering shaft for more clearance

Maybe I'm some sort of genius, but it took me less than an hour... Took off the starter and intake plenum, unbolted the motor mounts, jacked it up, driver side from under, put a few bolts in to hold it, buddy pushed the engine over a bit, slid the passenger side header in from up top, viola. No steering shafts, etc.

Just a question! Why is evaryone removing motor mounts? I put my BBKson using a lift and they both went in from the bottom.I have no A/C parts, Smog, and a tubular K, solid motor mounts.

What is wrong with my mustang?
