well this aint he section to post it, but for future reference it stands for "performance improved" and its for the 4.6 stang. from 96-98 the 4.6 sohc had crappy heads intake and cams, that was all improved in 99 and the its called a pi engine, and a pi swap is when the heads cams and intake are taken from this motor and put on a 96-98 motor.

yea im 100% sure, adn teh 4v was still rated at 305 in 98 b/c the 98 cobra is slower than the 96 for whatever reason. ur thinkin of the 99 cobra.
