hey me and turbos, we dont no eachother well... but then tell me, why do all the turbo deisel(sp) trucks at the track sit on the line for so long building rpms but not movin(brake+gas... u get it)? i always thought this was for the turbo...
With an automatic you can load the turbo by power braking. You load the motor against the coverter and away you go. Can't load a motor against a clutch unless you slip (burn) the hell out of it. The neon guy COULD have been slipping his clutch hard through 1st to build boost and keep traction (balancing act).

I am assuming the gears are 3.08s I'm not hitting the 14s because my tires are crap, and I'm just feeling out the car. I went up there to get a baseline time. The car isn't in the best of shape, and it needs alot of work. I just wanted to know my starting point. It's running too rich, burning oil, the suspension isn't transferring weight that well, and I've only made 5 runs with the car, the first being last night. I couldn't afford to get a 5.0 that was already in excellent shape. For what my car is, I think it did pretty damn well. I would be willing to bet that when I get back from Iraq next year, I'll be somewhere deep into the nines.

I ran that guy three times. I beat him once though, by a fender. He had a better e/t, but I got him so bad on reaction time it was rediculous.

Vic
he was prob letting the turbo spool...
A turbo wont spool unless its under load, and revving your engine is not putting a load on it.
I am almost 100% sure you can spool a turbo by reving your car. Actually I know you can.

skittles dont have spooling issues, in fact, if you have traction, you can spool it up part throttle and launch.

test drove one we have on used car trade(HE BOUGHT A MUSTANG GT), and I noticed, its extremely hard to hook the little bastard, and that in roll , it proves deadly.
