drop the H pipe, loosen the headers(to remove the bellhousing), take off the tranny crossmember, take off the shifter, seperate the tranny from the bellhousing, remove clutch cable, remove starter, then remove bellhousing. i JUST did mine with BBK long tubes on it

When I took the manual transmission out of my 87LX I just took the tranny out and left the bellhousing attached so I just had to drop the H pipe ,drain the tranny fluid, take the driveshaft off, take the crossmember out, take the shifter off, disconnect the speedo, reverse wire and just unbolted the transmission from the bellhousing then pulled it back and out.
