Default explorer heads

hey guys i was thinking about picking up some gt-40 heads for my 85, and i was wondering if they would just bolt on or would i have to do any modifications. One more thing, whats the difference between gt-40 and gt-40p is it the spark plug angle or what. sorry to ask a dumb question lol

direct bolt in....the p's have different plug angles and require special headers

Asked and answered That's really all there is to it. Just remember that if you want GT40 and not the P-series.. the Explorer has to be from before 1997 1/2

the exhaust valves are a little smaller. not exactly positive how much but they are a little smaller.

Not jumping on you, the question isn't a problem at all, but... Anyone else notice how ungodly many GT40 threads we've gotten in the past while? I'd say it's sticky time, but it's not like anyone reads those anyway

the P heads have smaller valves, not the regular GT-40's

40's have 1.85/1.54 valves and the P's have 1.85/1.46 valves
