i have an 89 GT with underdrives and a cheap battery and since i put a new tensioner on it i havent had charging problems!

I think if your strater stayed on, it is selinoid or ignition related. The starter wont run if it isn't getting power.

There is a lesson to be learned here.... If your car isnt functioning properly.... DONT DRIVE IT!

Im pretty sure others will agree, IMO id think the started gear will strip beofre the flywheel would. I couldnt see you needin to get a new flywheel at all really.
Have you made any progress with gettin it to fire? also if the started sticks-tap it with a hammer/dont beat on it though. just a tap...tap..........tap

ok thast kinda what i thought too that the starter gear would give out before the fly wheel would. but im stil keeping my fingers crossed.[/align][/align]and im actually still working on getting my car to my house. it sat at that parking lot over night and now im waiting on a call from a towing company to let me know they can finally get my car. every towing company in town is still really really busy. [/align][/align]but i think im just going to have it towed to my house and then let it sit untill the snow melts, which i looked at next weeks weather and its saposed to be in the 40's-50's so maybe ill get lucky![/align][/align]oh and i actually just called autozone on getting prices for a starter and selenoyd and after the core and everything out the door will be $70 which is a lot better than i thought. someone told me a starter for our cars is $100, and i was like wait a minuet, somethings is actually NOT cheap for a 5.0L mustang?!?!? NO WAY! lol[/align]

you have long tube's, better get yourself a mini-starter or your gonna have all sorts of problems getting a stock starter in and out.
