Default thinking about buying another gt

Ive got a 94 mustang gt that Im in the process of rebuilding-- but in the mean time I found another mustang that a buddy of mine is selling that Im interested in...

Heres the deal w/ it

Its a 95 gt w/ a 5 speed. Car is higher mileage, around 150k. Anyway, the car just started shaking really bad...I would say its worse is at like 1200-1300rpm. I really havent gotten to take a good look at it...but I will tomorrow.

He seems to think that an injector might be bad causing one of the cylinders to be misfiring...does that sound possible?

I dont really have a clue where to look...we checked the plug wires to see if one got swapped or something, but they were straight. The whole car shakes when you're driving it, shakes when its idling...but like I said its at its worse at 1200-1300rpm. It seems like all the power is there...it just feels like something is out of balance. Anyone have a clue as to what it would be or where to start looking?

could be the harmonic balancer, check it out, the rubber tears and that can make the whole car shake. If it moves, its probably bad.

that'd be too cool if it was the harmonic balancer...Ive got one I could pull off the other mustang just to see if it works. How would I go about doing that?

You need a special tool thats made for pulling of balancers. Take of the crank pulley, then put the puller on the balancer and put a new one on. DONT use a hammer to get the balancer on though.

I just went out in the garage looked at the harmonic balancer...theres one nut in the center of it. Does that need to come off?

Anyone know if the nut is reverse thread? Ive heard both that it is and isnt....

I think it is just a regular normal thread, if you have a air gun it would make your life alot easier, I am not sure what size the bolt is though.

sorry for the stupid question about the nut last night....I was tired.

I got it off...used an impact wrench and the job was very easy. The car runs great now. I'm starting to really like mustangs....they're so much easier to work on than fbody cars. (I just sold my 99 fireturd)

I picked thismustang up for $1500...would have gotten it for less, but we drove it up to advance auto and we were talking to the cashier and he offered my buddy 1500 for it right then! That pissed me off so much....cuz he thinking like a grand or 1200 for the car.

Oh well, a $60 part and like 2 hours worth of work and the car runs good....I'm happy. Ive got a set of cobra rims w/ new tires waiting to go on the car this weekend (picked those up for $800...NIB)
