same thing i thought. i wonder if i could get away with honing the clyinders and installing .060 pistons and not have a big overheating prob.? or should i sleeve the block and go with .030 overbore?

I would sleeve it. Or find another block. .060 is not going to be friendly to you if you keep the turbo. I would think with the thin cylinder walls and high cylinder temps from the turbo you will have bad overheating issue. Thats just my opinion though I am sure your gonna get a bunch of different ones on this.

Mine was is .060 and I found the same suprise when I tore mine down. Before the rebuild I ran the car hard, and never overheated. I was running a 2 barrel carb then. I am wanting to build me a new engine, I think it is cheaper just to find another block than sleeve this one. You can look at you cylinder walls and see how close you are to the water jacket. .060 is extremely thin especially with a turbo. I went with a basic rebuild, cast pistons, so I can drive my car this summer. This winter I am building the new engine.

the cylinder wall is already at .060 over so if there's no over heating problems you shouldnt get any since the wall is already thinned out. JMO

im at .060 over and std bore piston. ive had alot of blow-by, even blowing my dipstick up. so if i put .060 over piston in it and good rings to seal everything up, i will have higher cly. press and more power. i was running at 210 degrees in the summer with alum. rad and high flow water pump . i dont want to take a chance on bulding this new engine and it over heating this summer at the track. ( that would be embaressing ,to say the least).i dont want to be the guy with the turbo stang with coolant all over the track [:'(]
