Default Tranny guys stop in

I am needing a clutch for a 1988 GT 5 spd and I was wondering, how do you know if youneed 10 spline or 26 spline? I am leaning toward a centerforce df clutch but I see theres different shaft diameters, and different clutch sizes, how do you know is it a tag on the tranny or is it a by year kinda thing?

Heres what I was looking at, http://store.summitracing.com/partde...p;autoview=sku

If you think I am not choosing well, let me know please, thanks.

You should need a 10.5 in clutch with 10 splines. Unless someone has swapped it out for a tremec or gforce trans.

You mean an LMC? Too rich for my blood, 300 for a clutch is bad enough but 650? ouch

BTW Thanks for your help today man. The guy that was helping me was suppose to have done several of these trans before so he said. It seems I knew more about them than he did though. I still dont have it complete though. His dumbass forgot to put the blocker ring on the input shaft synchro. I found it laying on the table after I already had the trans back in the car. Needless to say it came right back out. And tore back down to install the ring. I hope to have it done within a couple hours in the morning. Thanks again and sorry for the hi-jack Irish1.
