First off the throttle body is too big. A 70mm would be more than enough even if you went 331/347.As for the heads, If your on a budget some ported stock E7's from Thumper or GT40p's would work. If you have money to burn or time to save upthen Trick Flows or AFR 165's for a 306 or AFR 185's if you go 331/347.

I pretty much agree with chiltown. If you got the money definitely get some afr heads. On a 306 go with afr 165s. 331 or 347 go with the some afr 185s or possibly some 205s. On a 408 definitely go with some afr 205s.

i guess my motor is junk then since i'm using 185's on a 306 with 9.7 compression?

75 t-body with a anderson ford 90mm mass air will give you a throttle response that you wouldn't believe...

i run 11.90's on my junk, and i have yet used my cam's power band with the stock computer.

lol I wasn't saying you can't use afr 185s on a 306... no need to get offended, I don't know how you got to us saying your car is junk, I was just making recommendations. Compression is always a factor as well.
