Default Low fuel light

On my 86 mustang was driving along and the low furl light came on and yes it has plenty of fuel i just filled it. Idle has gone down a little but still runs ok but does have a little stumble. I just replaced the fuel filter since i had not done that or know when it was done last. Don't know if a fuel pump goin out might trigger that light or not?

it is possible or the car isn't getting enough fuel. You think you might have any leaks by chance? Also possible the light is just messed up, a lot of the electronics on 5 liters tend to get kind of twacked out lol.

How hard is it to do a pressure test on that car and wouldnt that tell me whether or not the pump was acting up?

you could probably just check the fuel pressure on the fuel rail with a fuel pressure gauge, and see if the pressure jumps up and down, that would most likely mean the pump is going out.

What should the fuel pressure be at when i get a pressure guage on it? Iwould love to just pulll the light but i also dont want to get out somewhere and the pump go out. I really hate being stuck somewhere thats why im kinda hopin there is a easier way to do it

Low Fuel light indicator is not connected to the fuel pump, it could be a problem with the "Low Fuel Warning Module", wiring, instrument panel or fuel level sender......
