Default PLEASE HELP, FUEL PUMP QUESTION

Hello all, im new to the forums. ive read alot of post's on fuel pumps but im still confused on what i need. my car has plaenty of power, but, sometimes it surges and pops. i am running stock fuel pump ithink and im told its not keeping up. the car sometimes runs fine and like i said, surges sputters and pops when i lug the motor in a higher gear than needed. heres my mods so please tell me whats the best...a 190 or a 255. i have no problem with the mechanic side, im just not good at the equasions. THANKS

get a 225 no reason not to. 100$ on e bay

also i dont knwo what your HP is at but if its above 300 maybe get some 24lb injectors to??? sounds to me like you got a vac leak

You'll want a good fuel pressure regulator, though. Check out Kirban. Agreed though, might as well buy the top one and be done, instead of wasting money buying another more powerful one down the road

so... if you nail it hard, the cars pops and sputters? how about around corners?

might as well get the bigger one just because of the power seats ya know...lol thats like counting a pony decal as a mod.....j/k

but yea, might as well get the bigger one it wont hurt

sorry bout posting that as a mod. lol. thats just a list of stuff i sent a friend about my car. oops. as far as corners i dont notice anything different than straight away. it just seems to do it whenever it wants to. how hard is it to install a fuel pressure regulator and gauge and please a little info on the job. im also going to upgrade the pump relay and change the filter(which may be part of my problem). any more help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The filter is a pretty easy job, never installed a fuel pump but heard its not that hard. I agree and would also go with a 255. You have a return style fuel system so it really doesnt make a difference if you over do it w/ a 255.

As for the regulator, they are not hard to install at all. Dont forget to geta guage also when you get the reg
