Default transmission, midpipe and conversion question

Ok I've been looking for another mustang, very preferably a manual, for awhile and a good deal came along on a automatic. One of my problems is that I have a BBK midpipe along with my longtube headers and exhaust waiting to be put on.

Will the midpipe work around the auto tranny?

Also, is it hard to do a conversion from auto to manual?

my instructor said the most annoying part is running the cables...he said that he wouldnt do it but if you wanted to go for it...its just a pain in the rear and alot of work. an auto w/ a good tranny and tq. converter is just as good as a stick...bracket racing is dominated by automatics for thier consistency.

All is true, but how many times are you going to race it? And cars do more than go in a straight line...

according to bbk their headers are for manuals only. thats why i went with mac because they make a set of long tubes meant for auto cars. the main differences are that the coolectors are wider apart for the auto and that on the auto headers, the o2 bungs point outward as opposed to the t5 headers that point inward

Thanks guys, I think I'm just going to keep searching for the manual. I'm not worried about racing or consistency, I just love to have that extra control of the car.

the automatic lag is very noticable on these cars.

the torque helps hide it but still if i quarter throttle it at 1000 rpm's it will just bog

then again maybe its just because my engine is tired and old.
