new idle problem
Well as some of you know my idle has been surging insanely since i did the HCI swap, i have jsut been dealing with it but today i tried to figure it out. I Messed with my IAC and it works fine, i hooked it up to 12 volts and pintle moved fine. So i gave it a nice vacuum leak(disconnected the supply frmo the block on the firewall) and the idle smoothed out, and it didnt stall when i put it in gear. It ran fine, WTF? IT never had this problem before the HCI, and it started directly after the HCI swap. Anyone got any ideas?

RE: new idle problem
Maybe running too lean. By disconnecting the vacuum line, you created a lean condition and the ecm may have compensated for it by richening the mixture. Just an educated guess though. Did you plug the line or leave it open?

RE: new idle problem
No, i plugged it, I figured if anything it would be running rich, i have 30# injectors..... I would probably give my left arm to get rid of this problem. It has been driving me crazy for 4 months now

RE: new idle problem
a C&L maf, the car hasnt been tuned. I have been told by the local tuner that a tune would fix the problem. But he also would be making some cash off the deal so id expect him to say that. If it needs a tune ill get one, i was just gonna try to hold out until summer when i have more money. BTW the tuner that told me that was Mike Murillo, i have heard he is pretty famous around the mustang comunity and usually know what he is talking about

RE: new idle problem
Yes i have hte right sample tube, i bought the MAF and injectors together. I assume clocking is where you rotate the MAF to see if that helps, yes i did that and no help

RE: new idle problem
Have you checked for vacuum leaks?
Any cel codes?
What else has been changed. You may be chasing your tail since a tune has already been recomended. What's the f/p set at?
Any black smoke out the t-pipe?
How does it run under load on the highway or just cruising around?
